Kuntao ~ Silat ~ Kali Hawaii

Every year a Scholarship is awarded to the most outstanding student, who shows exceptional ability in the learning process within this system. The scholarship is named after one of Dr. Bahati Mershant's most memorable students, Mr. Constantino "Tino" Rojas.

         Many students in the past have received this scholarship,

 Shannon Vicente Suwanda, Cathy O'hara, Leroy Pasalo, Marcus Lowry,

           Dana Mattos, Paul Labit, Kieth McKeon, to name a few.

 This year 2009 , Kirk Henry was the most outstanding student, passing his first level test with Instructor's Dana Mattos & Paul Labit with a near perfect performance. His continued class attendance, participation, and enthusiasm has shown he will become a wonderful instructor for future students. His extra help in the opening of our new studio, making it look so professional with his painting was a plus for everyone. Thank you Kirk for your appearance in our group and we look forward to many more years of continued learning.
