About Me
Everyone's hard work is pulling together on this project, & the new facility is popping right along. I appreciate everyone's efforts from financial donations, time & hard work, expertise in construction aspects, sweat equity, and just plain enthusiasm. I hope that I haven't been a total basket case and intruded into your private time too much,as I went into catastrophic meltdown trying to organize things. I have a great crew and it seems as though we may have a truly viable situation with opportunity for everyone to expand their horizons. I applaud you all !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

About Me
I share what I call Progressive Kali Silat in a barn out in the countryside south of Charlotte, Mi.. I started in the martial arts at 12 in a Y.M.C.A. Judo program after seeing Kung Fu on T.V.. I learned some wrestling in Jr. and Sr. High school as well as Some Karate. Like most peaple who continue there education I tried any thing I could. I went in to the U.S.M.C. in 1979, ran in to several different methods. When I got out, I started at a School ran by Sifu Dan Timlen of Mid Mi.Martial Arts Academy. This is where I got the 1st glimps of J.K.D., Kali, and Silat. I am 51 now and never quit to this day learning 1 art or another. I find The "Indo Arts" to be that of the finest arts one could ever hope to learn. I am no Master, but I have spent my life learning, training, and sharing as much and as often as God will allow. I am thankfull for this forum / site to give other players as well as my self the ability to share and learn |

About Me
I am a lifelong resident of Kailua Kona. I recently spent some time in Bend Oregon where I worked as a mason and part time bouncer at a local club. I received some very basic security/bouncer training from my boss who was a student of Shawn Jewell. While in Bend I was introduced to Harimau style Silat. In my opinion Silat is the most "to the point" and efficient martial art I have ever seen. |

About Me
Aloha and Mahalo, My name is Christopher Kelau from Hilo Hi. I've been a student of Mr. Mattos for a little over 2 yrs. and now serve as 2nd instructor within the KSK O'hana. I've studied numerous Martial Arts sytems throughout my life, but never comitted my focus as much as I have within this system. Silat and the other Southeast Asian Arts has found a soft spot in myself and thier for has given me a new found drive to explore, exploit and learn what I can to grow within these " Hard Tought Sytems ". I'm a current Service member with the 100 BT 442 INF Mortars Stationed in my home town of Hilo. Being a service member all of my adult life, Martial Arts as a whole to me was for physical conditioning and mental stability and rarely thought of a applicable "TOOL" to use in every day situations. As my Military career continued, Sep 11, 2001 happened and for my generation became our day of Infamy for us, as Pearl Harbor was to our elders in their time. As time pasted during this conflict horrific intel and numerous accounts of Soldiers, Marines and some Sailor's we're engaging enemy forces in CQB/CQC enviroments and most of the scrimishes ending in H2H combat with casualties on both ends, after hearing this Intel alot of My Battle Budies and myself trained tiredlessly in other Martial Art sytems to give us an advantage if such a time had risen where we would have too use such set skills, needless to say my time within the military has not put me in such pridicaments, but who's to say that one day I may be put into a situation in my daily life or military service that has me fending for my life or the worst, that of my family, I for one do not see myself or my family being victims or a casualty of war because I was ill prepaired. I train hard and I train to excel and I seek knowledge to grow. " I DO NOT SETTLE FOR LESS " This as real as it gets and their are others out there that do the same, but to cause harm, I do this because this is me, this is what I do for a living and my family depends on me to be that strength. My name is Chris and I welcome all to come and learn with us here at KSK Hawai'i ! Mahalo !
